Clearing Plant Tissue for Observation of Vascular Strands

Sioux Christensen

Adapted from Arabidopsis: A Laboratory Manual (eds. Weigel and Glazebrook). CSHL Press, Cold Spring Harbor, NY, USA, 2002.

INTRODUCTION

Vascular strands constitute an internal tissue that is important for plant growth. The strands are easily imaged by whole-mount analysis after fixation and tissue clearing, as described in this article.
