INTRODUCTION

Whole-mount in situ hybridization is used to reveal the spatiotemporal expression pattern of a gene in tissue samples without sectioning the tissue. This protocol describes procedures for fixing starlet sea anemone (Nematostella vectensis) embryos, larvae, and polyps, hybridizing with a digoxigenin (DIG)-labeled RNA probe, and detecting the bound probe.
