NGM worm culturing media

NaCl, 3 g

agar, 17 g

peptone, 2.5 g

5 mg/ml cholesterol, 1 ml

1 M CaCl2, 1 ml

1 M MgSO4, 1 ml

1 M K2HPO4/KH2PO4 (pH 6), 25 ml

Dissolve 3 g of NaCl, 17 g of agar, 2.5 g of peptone, and 1 ml of 5 mg/ml cholesterol in 1 liter of H2O. After autoclaving, add 1 ml of 1 M CaCl2, 1 ml of 1 M MgSO4, and 25 ml of potassium phosphate buffer (pH 6). Prepare plates and seed E. coli as a food source for the nematodes.
