Trichloroacetic acid (TCA) in acetone
Trichloroacetic acid (TCA), 100%
Prepare by adding 10 ml of 100% (w/v) TCA to 90 ml acetone and mixing. Because TCA is extremely hygroscopic, and thus difficult to weigh accurately, prepare a 100% (w/v) TCA stock solution by adding 227 ml of H2O to a 500-g bottle of TCA (this can then easily be adjusted to any desired TCA concentration by dilution with acetone).
