(Cetylpyridinium bromide) To prepare a 1% (w/v) solution dissolve 1 g of CPB (Sigma) in 100 ml of H2O. To speed dissolution, heat the solution on a hot plate while agitating it with a magnetic stirrer. After all of the detergent has dissolved, cool the solution to room temperature and filter it through a nitrocellulose filter (0.45-μm pore size).
