Lysis buffer (17-3)

0.05% (v/v) saponin

200 mM β-mercaptoethanol

100 mM KCl

50 mM Tris-Cl (pH 7.9)

50% (v/v) glycerol

5 mM MgCl2

Store lysis buffer at 4°C. Add β-mercaptoethanol to the lysis buffer just before use.
