Prepare 10 mg/mL 1,4-phenylenediamine in 10X PBS. Combine 10 mL of this stock solution with 90 mL of glycerol. Add propidium iodide to a final concentration of 1 μg/mL. Store in 1-mL aliquots in the dark at −20°C.
