Tris-Cl (0.2 M, pH 8.5)

Combine 2.4 g of Mowiol, 6 g of glycerol, and 6 mL of H₂O. Mix for 3 h. Add 12 mL of 0.2 M Tris-Cl (pH 8.5). Incubate with mixing at 50°C for 10 min. Centrifuge at 5000g for 15 min to pellet insoluble material. Add DABCO to final concentration of 2.5% to the solution as antibleaching agent. Store in 500-μL aliquots at −20°C.
