Drosophila Ringer’s solution

Reagent Amount to make 1 L Final concentration
CaCl2•2H2O 0.33 g 3 mM
KCl 13.6 g 182 mM
NaCl 2.7 g 46 mM
Tris base 1.21 g 10 mM
HCl (1 N) to adjust pH to 7.2
Combine the first four components in <1 L of H2O and stir to dissolve. Adjust pH to 7.2 with 1 N HCl, and bring to a final volume of 1 L with H2O. Pass through a 0.47-μm filter and sterilize by autoclaving. This is a 1X solution.
