Maleic acid buffer

Reagent Quantity (for 500 mL) Final concentration
Maleic acid (1 M, pH 7.5) 50 mL 0.1 M
NaCl (5 M) 15 mL 0.15 M
H2O to 500 mL
Adjust the pH to 7.5 with NaOH. Sterilize by autoclaving for 20 min at 15 psi and store at room temperature. Buffer will keep for 6-12 mo.
