Ctenophore in situ hybridization buffer (CISHB)

Reagent Quantity (for 10 mL) Final concentration
Formamide 5 mL 50%
Heparin (20 mg/mL) 25 μL 50 μg/mL
Salmon sperm DNA (10 mg/mL) 50 μL 100 μg/mL
SDS (Sodium dodecyl sulfate; 20%) 500 μL 1.0%
SSC (20X) (adjust pH to 4.5) 2.5 mL 5X
Tween 20 (20%) 50 μL 0.1%
H2O to 10 mL
Store buffer at -20°C. It will keep for 1-2 mo.
