Gallocine chrome alum solution
300 mg gallocyanine (C.I. 51030)
10 g chrome alum (chromium potassium sulfate)
200 mL H2O
Combine the above reagents, boil in a conical flask for 20 min and leave until cool. Filter, and then make up the volume of the filtrate to 200 mL by pouring H2O through the precipitate in the filter paper. The staining properties of this solution begin to weaken after 1 wk.
