Hypotonic solution (for bone marrow cells)

Reagent Amount Final concentration
HEPES (Sigma H3375) 4.8 g 20 mM
Ethylene glycol (Sigma E4378) 0.2 g 0.53 mM
Potassium chloride 3.0 g 40 mM
To 1 L of H2O, add the chemicals in the order listed, with a 30-min interval between each addition. Adjust the pH to 7.2-7.4. Store at 4°C.
