DABCO/PI mountant

Reagent Quantity (for 100 mL) Final concentration
DABCO (1,4-diazabicyclo-[2,2,2]-octane) 2.5 g 2.5%
Glycerol 90 mL 90%
Phosphate-buffered saline for immunohistochemistry (10X), diluted to 1X 10 mL
Propidium iodide (PI) 20 μg 0.00002%
Dissolve DABCO powder in glycerol at 37°C for ~8 h. Once dissolved, add PBS (pH 8.6). Add PI. Aliquot, wrap in foil and store at 4°C for several months.
