DIMS solvent

Reagent Quantity to add (for 18 mL) Final concentration
Methanol (ACS reagent grade; e.g., Sigma 65543) 5.4 mL 30% (v/v)
H2O, sterile, ultrapure (18.2 MΩ·cm resistivity) (MilliQ or Barnstead) 12.6 mL
Formic acid (Sigma-Aldrich F0507) 20 μL 0.1% (v/v)
DIMS solvent is used as both the solvent for mass spectrometry (MS) samples and as the MS flowing solvent. Formic acid aids in the ionization of amino acids.
Scale the volumes up appropriately for the number of samples.
