INTRODUCTION

This protocol outlines how to perform in situ hybridization on honeybee embryos, adult brains, or ovaries to detect the expression pattern of a targeted transcript. The tissue is digested by proteinase K to promote probe penetration, and then prehybridized to block nonspecific binding of the probe.
