Borate buffer

Reagent (final concentration) For 4 L For 500 mL For 100 mL
Boric acid (100 mM) 24.74 g 3.09 g 0.62 g
NaCl (75 mM) 17.54 g 2.19 g 0.44 g
Sodium tetraborate (25 mM) 38.14 g 4.77 g 0.95 g
Dissolve the ingredients in H2O. Use a stir bar and low heat to ensure that the boric acid dissolves fully. Sterilize by vacuum-filtration with a 0.22-μm filter. Adjust the pH to 8.4.
