Insulin solution for amphibians
50 mg insulin (from bovine pancreas; Sigma)
To prepare 100 mL of insulin solution, weigh 50 mg of insulin in a beaker. Add 50 mL of 0.1 M HCl to dissolve the insulin. Add APBS to bring the volume to 100 mL. Sterilize by filtering through a 0.22-μm filter. Store as 1-mL aliquots at −20°C.
