Selection plates for transgenic Arabidopsis

Bacto agar (7 g/L)

Carbenicillin (500 mg/L)

Glufosinate ammonium (12 mg/L)

Kanamycin (50 mg/L)

MS medium for Arabidopsis (50%, v/v)

Prepare a bacto agar stock of 14 g/L. Autoclave. Cool to 60°C. Mix with an equal volume of MS medium (i.e., to the final concentrations listed above). Add the antibiotics and glufosinate ammonium. Mix well. Working under a hood, pour into Petri dishes (~25 mL per 100-mm plate).

Carbenicillin inhibits growth of Agrobacterium. Alternatively, use 100 mg/L cefotaxime.
