Preparation of Meiotic Chromosomes from Adult Drosophila Testes

Several techniques have been developed for the preparation of Drosophila male meiotic chromosomes. All of these techniques allow a clear visualization of chromosomes, but not of other cellular structures such as the cytoskeleton and the spindle. The protocol described here is particularly useful for the analysis of adult testes.
