Reduced Cytochrome c Solution

  • 1. Dissolve oxidized cytochrome c (Sigma-Aldrich) in 0.05 m potassium phosphate buffer (pH 7.0 at room temperature) to make a 20 mm solution.

  • 2. Reduce with 0.2 mg of sodium dithionite (Sigma-Aldrich).

  • 3. Dialyze for 24 h at 4°C against 0.05 m potassium phosphate buffer (pH 7.0 at room temperature).

  • 4. Immediately before use, mix 30 µL of 20 mm reduced cytochrome c with 1 mL of 0.05 m potassium phosphate buffer.
