Na₃VO₄ Stock Solution

Prepare a stock solution of 200 mm sodium orthovanadate (Na₃VO₄). Adjust the pH of the 200 mm stock solution to 10 using 1 n NaOH or 1 n HCl. (At a pH of 10 the solution should be yellow.) Boil until the solution clears (~10 min). Cool to room temperature. Readjust to pH 10. Repeat cycles of boiling and pH adjustment until the solution remains clear at pH 10. Store in aliquots at −20°C.
