Aldehyde Fixative (MEMFA)

Reagent Final concentration
MOPS 0.1 m
EGTA 2 mm
MgSO4 1 mm
Formaldehyde (dissolved solid or commercially purchased solution) 3.7%
Adjust the pH to 7.4. Store at 4°C for up to 1 mo. This formulation was developed in the Harland laboratory (Harland 1991).
