Modified Rearing Solution (1× MR)

60 mm NaCl

0.67 mm KCl

0.34 mm Ca(NO3)2

0.83 mm MgSO4

10 mm HEPES (pH 7.4)

40 mg/L gentamycin

Supplement with 0.001% phenylthiocarbamide to prevent melanocyte pigmentation. Store for up to 1 wk at 4°C.
