HEPES-Buffered Steinberg's Solution (100%)

Reagent Quantity
KCl  0.05 g
Ca(NO3)2 4H2O  0.08 g
MgSO4 7H2O 0.205 g
NaCl  3.4 g
HEPES  1.19 g
Dissolve in 1 L of dH2O. Adjust the pH to 7.4 by adding NaOH. This working solution can be made from a 10× stock solution (stored at 4°C) by diluting with dH2O. Check pH before using. The 100% working solution can be kept at room temperature for ∼1 mo. (This recipe is from Zackson and Steinberg 1986.)
