B2 Medium

Reagent Amount
Casein hydrolysate 20 g
Yeast extract 50 g
NaCl 50 g
K2HPO4•2H2O 2 g
  • 1. Dissolve the above reagents in 1.9 L of distilled H2O.

  • 2. Adjust pH to 7.5 using NaOH or HCl and add distilled H2O to 1.95 L.

  • 3. Autoclave at 15 PSI for 20 min at 121°C.

  • 4. Dissolve 10 g of glucose in 50 mL of distilled H2O, sterilize with a 0.2-µm filter, and add it aseptically to the autoclaved medium.

    • Store for up to months at room temperature or 4°C.
