1. Make 2% sucrose solution by adding sucrose to Milli-Q H2O.

2. Use the 2% sucrose solution to dissolve the agar. A microwave may be used to heat the solution to dissolve further, ensuring not to bring it to a vigorous boil.
Store for up to 10 d at 4°C.
