Agar Plates (1%, w/v)

1. Microwave 1 g of agar and 100 mL of double-distilled H2O in a flask to completely dissolve the agar. Remove the solution from the microwave, and cool to 60°C.

2. Pour 10 mL into 60-mm polystyrene Petri dishes. Allow the agar to completely solidify.

3. Store at 4°C in sealed bags to prevent desiccation for up to 4 mo.
