Supplemented Buffer P

50 mM sodium phosphate (pH 7.4)

0.5 M NaCl

0.5 mg/ml lysozyme

1 mM phenylmethylsulfonyl fluoride (PMSF)

1.7 units/ml Benzonase (Merck, Darmstadt, Germany)

1 mM MgCl2

Add the lysozyme, PMSF, and Benzonase just prior to use in Step 3.
