Fabricating Protein Arrays
Adapted from “Characterization of Protein Complexes,” Chapter 10, in Proteins and Proteomics (ed. Simpson). Cold Spring Harbor Laboratory Press, Cold Spring Harbor, NY, USA, 2003.INTRODUCTION
This article provides recommendations for immobilizing proteins in an array format as well as general guidelines for preparation and storage of samples. Other considerations that are discussed include reaction conditions (such as protein concentration and buffer composition) appropriate for the protein(s) being studied and techniques to eliminate common problems with protein microarray printing.
