Paraformaldehyde solution (4%) for RNA FISH

Reagent Amount to add
Paraformaldehyde (extra pure; Merck) 4 g
PBS (1X, pH 7.4) to 100 ml
NaOH (5 M) 200 μl
HCl to pH 7.4
Dissolve 4 g paraformaldehyde in 80 ml 1X PBS and 200 μl 5 M NaOH at 60°C with stirring. Adjust to pH 7.4 with HCl. Bring to a final volume of 100 ml with 1X PBS.
