Bleaching reagent

Reagent Quantity (for 10 mL) Final concentration
Formamide 500 μL 5%
H2O2 2.8 mL 28%
SSC (20X) 250 μL 0.5X
Diethyl pyrocarbonate (DEPC)-treated H2O to 10 mL
Prepare fresh. To avoid foaming, add the ingredients in the following order: formamide, DEPC-treated H2O, 20X SSC, and H2O2. After use, dilute the bleaching solution with an equal amount of H2O and store it in a fume hood before disposal.
