YM agar

Reagent Amount to add (for 1 L) Final concentration Source
Agar 20 g 2% (w/v) Oxoid LP0011
Glucose 10 g 1% (w/v) Sigma-Aldrich G5767
Yeast extract 3 g 0.3% (w/v) BD 212750
Malt extract 3 g 0.3% (w/v) BD 211220
Peptone 5 g 0.5% (w/v) BD 211677
H2O, ultrapure to 1 L MilliQ or Barnstead
Alternatively, ready-made YM broth (BD 271120) can be used at 21 g/L in place of the glucose, extracts, and peptone.
Suspend the reagents in 1 L of ultrapure H2O. If ready-made YM broth is not being used, adjust the pH to 6.2. Sterilize by autoclaving for 15 min at 121°C.
