Durcupan Resin for TEM

50 g single component A (M epoxy resin; Sigma 44611; Sigma-Aldrich)

50 g single component B (hardener 964; Sigma 44612; Sigma-Aldrich)

1.75 g single component C (accelerator 960; Sigma 44613; Sigma-Aldrich)

0.75 g single component D (plasticizer; Sigma 44614; Sigma-Aldrich)

In a fume hood, combine all components in a disposable beaker. (Durcupan ACM is also available as a set of all four components [Fluka 44610; Sigma-Aldrich]. Each component has a long shelf life.) Stir until well mixed. Aliquot into 20 mL portions and use immediately or store at −20°C (for 6 mo) or at −80°C (for several years) to slow polymerization. Aliquots can be freeze-thawed up to four times. Bake all waste at 70°C for 24 h before disposing.
