| Sodium tetraborate decahydrate (ACS reagent, 99.5–105.0%) | 2 g |
| Boric acid (molecular biology grade, ∼99%) | 4.885 g |
| Dissolve the reagents in 400 mL of H2O. Adjust pH to 8.0 ± 0.2 with 1 m HCl or 1 m NaOH. Adjust the volume to 500 mL with H2O. This buffer can be kept at room temperature for at least 1 yr. | |
