HEPES-Buffered Hanks Balanced Salt Solution without Ca2+ and Mg2+ (Ca2+/Mg2+-free HHBSS)

Reagent Final concentration
HBSS (10×, without Ca2+, Mg2+, or phenol red; Life Technologies)   1×
HEPES  20 mm
d-Glucose   2 g/L
Prepare the solution in Chelex-treated ultrapure H2O. Adjust pH to 7.2 and sterilize using a bottle-top 0.22-μm filter. Store solution in a metal-free plastic container.
