P1 Buffer

  • 1. In a clean 2-L beaker, add:

    H2O, autoclaved, distilled 920 mL
    Tris-Cl (1 m, pH 8.0)  50 mL
    EDTA (0.5 m, pH 8.0)  20 mL
    RNase H (10 mg/mL) (DNase-free)  10 mL
  • 2. Add a sterile stir bar and stir for 5 min.

  • 3. Filter and store at 4°C. Label the bottle with the date. Prepare fresh for each day of use.
