P2 Buffer

1. In a clean 1-L beaker, add:
H2O, autoclaved, distilled 880 mL NaOH (10 m) 20 mL SDS (10%) 100 mL -
2. Add a sterile stir bar and stir for 5 min. To avoid SDS precipitation, add the NaOH solution to the H2O and stir for few minutes before adding the SDS solution. Label the bottle with the date.

P2 buffer should be made every 2 d and stored at room temperature to avoid SDS precipitation.

3. If precipitation does occur, warm the bottle to 37°C and stir for a few minutes.
