Mtz Treatment Solution

Recipe

Reagent	Amount (1 L)	Final concentration
Metronidazole (Mtz; Sigma-Aldrich M1547)	1.71 g	10 mm
DMSO	0.2 mL	0.2%
BrdU (10 mm in frog water)	0.1 L	1 mm
Frog water
Prepare fresh on the day of use in glass bottles covered in foil. Add Mtz powder plus DMSO to frog water and stir for 30 min. Add 10 mm BrdU stock solution to a final concentration of 1 mm. (Note that it is essential to use Mtz from Sigma-Aldrich [M1547]. Other sources of Mtz, and even different Mtz products from Sigma-Aldrich, are not reliable.)
