PCR Tissue Homogenization Buffer (10×)

Reagent Final concentration
KCl (1 m)   500 mm
Tris-HCl   100 mm
Gelatin (Sigma-Aldrich G2500)   0.1 mg/mL
Nonidet P-40 (Sigma-Aldrich N6507) 0.45% (v/v)
Tween 20 (Sigma-Aldrich P1379) 0.45% (v/v)
Proteinase K  500 µg/mL
Add the Proteinase K just before use (20 mg/mL stock). Adjust the pH to 8.3 before addition of gelatin and detergents; this buffer can be stored at room temperature in small aliquots.
