Chromosome Fix Solution

Reagent Amount to add Final concentration (1×)
Marc's modified Ringers (MMR) (25×)   2 mL  1×
Triton X-100 (20%) 1.25 mL 0.5%
Glycerol (100%)   10 mL  20%
Formaldehyde (∼37% ACS grade, VWR Intl.) 3.65 mL 2.7%
Prepare fresh by mixing the above ingredients to a final volume of 50 mL with H2O. Alternatively, mix and freeze aliquots of the first three ingredients, and add the formaldehyde just before use.
