Permeabilization Solution for Immunohistochemistry

1. In a 15-mL Falcon tube, combine 200 mg of bovine serum albumin (final concentration 2%, w/v), 8.4 mL of Dulbecco’s phosphate-buffered saline (DPBS; Wisent), 1 mL of 10% (v/v) normal sheep serum (Jackson ImmunoResearch Inc.), and 400 µL of Triton X-100.

2. Vortex this mixture well. Makes 10 mL.

For optimal results, freshly prepare; however, aliquots can be made and stored long term (up to 1 yr) at −20°C.
