Agar (4%) Plates

1. Dissolve agar powder in deionized autoclaved H2O at 4% (w/v) by heating it in a microwave. Do not let the solution boil over.

2. Once sufficiently cooled to ∼55°C, pour the solution into 35-mm Petri dishes and then leave them to set.

3. Store 4% agar plates for up to 1–2 mo at 4°C.
