Hybridization mix for lamprey embryos

Reagent Quantity (for 500 mL) Final concentration
CHAPS (10% in diethyl pyrocarbonate [DEPC]-treated H2O) 25 mL 0.5%
EDTA (0.5 M, pH 8.0) 5 mL 5 mM
Formamide, deioinized (Ambion) 250 mL 50%
Heparin 50 mg 100 μg/mL
SSC (20X) 32.5 mL 1.3X
tRNA, baker’s yeast 100 mg 200 μg/mL
Tween 20 1 mL 0.2%
H2O to 500 mL
Hybridization mix can be stored for several months at -20°C.
