BCIP/NBT in showtime solution

Reagent Amount to add Final concentration
BCIP (5-bromo-4-chloro-3-indolyl phosphate, toluidinium salt) (50 mg/mL)a 5 μL 175 μg/mL
NBT (4-nitro blue tetrazolium chloride) (100 mg/mL)b 5 μL 337.5 μg/mL
Showtime solution (pH 9.5) 1.5 mL
a,bMake stock solutions of BCIP and NBT in DMF (dimethylformamide).
Mix the reagents in showtime solution (pH 9.5) just before use. Reaction color is a dark purple-blue.
